As in the first book, there’s a three-page series of illustrations before the comic, and some world-internal documents at the end of the book, with translations.

Process for page 497 of Vattu, from sketchup model to finished inks and colors. I love doing scenes like this but they do take forever.
A big part of what I want to convey in Vattu is a sense of place that feels organically learned and consistent, which is why I work from the model on panels like this one. If you look closely, bits of the city seen on pages 204, 366, 399, and a few others all come together here.
The THIRD book of my webcomic series Vattu is finally available in print, with Topatoco. Really happy with how it turned out!!!
I’m mere days from finishing work on Island Book 2, and then will get back to updating Vattu online– now into its FINAL BOOK, and things are really starting to come together. Hope you can follow along!!! thank y’all
I put up a couple new originals on etsy! Keep an eye on the shop if you’re interested; I’m going to try to keep a handful available at all times.
Very weird looking at my inking from 2006 and 2013 at the same time! A lot of early Vattu looks a little too meticulous to me now; I think I’ve figured out a nice, bolder middle ground for inking in the last couple hundred pages.
JUST THREE DAYS REMAIN to back the Kickstarter for the first two Vattu books, if you want to preorder one or both of them!
These books contain nearly 600 pages of the comic; what’s projected to be about the first half. This is an enormous, weird fantasy/adventure/biography comic; it’s not like anything I’ve made before and thank you everyone for reading it and for your support.

(FYI– we are now in something like the closing sequences of Book 3 [of 4] of Vattu. I don’t know exactly how long Book 3 will be! But I hope to be moving towards getting it in print in Spring 2018. We’ll seeeee)
