new layout and art for rice-boy.com !
Added a couple new pages to this e-book of Overside art I’ve had available for a few years! Somewhere over 120 pages.
New things on Gumroad: Order of Tales ebook, and a little book from 2009 with a bunch of development art for Koark, the main character of Order of Tales.
Here it is, the big fancy T-O-E drawing. Always fun and kind of weird to return to a character like this; I feel like this is the closest I’ve ever got to the picture in my head of an immortal, indifferent magic robot covered in trinkets from different cultures and centuries.
Getting some prints of this for Spring conventions (Staple, ECCC, TCAF, MoCCA, Linework [wow is it really that many]), at the very least. I liked having one big new print for shows last year, so maybe that’s a tentative plan for the future…
(the one electronic is a character in some of my comics if you are unaware)
Back in May I published an ebook of almost every piece of Overside-related non-comics art I’ve made over the past 8 years. I just updated it with some new art and commentary, bringing the total pages over 100.
(Everyone who bought the thing already should have received a link to the new edition for free!)
I put up an enormous art book on Gumroad. About 100 pages; practically every piece of Overside-related promotional art and illustration I’ve made over the past eight years. EIGHT YEARS! There is also a pretty lengthy section of commentary on every piece in the book, from the perspective of bitter, wizened 2014 Evan.
It was strange and weirdly emotional pulling this stuff out of the last three computers I’ve used. Overside and what I’ve been trying to get out of it haven’t been extremely internally consistent, but I don’t think many people get to have such a clear throughline for so many years through practically everything they do creatively. Not done yet, either.
It would be lovely if you’d help me spread the word on this thing, and let me know what you think of it if you decide to get it! Thank you!
Order of Tales book release!

The Order of Tales one-volume books are here, the signing is this Friday at Bergen Street Comics in Brooklyn. You should come! Might do a talk and a question and answer thing?? I don’t know.
Bigger delay on the arrival of the books than anticipated, but the process of sending out Kickstarter incentive orders begins TODAY.
My storage unit is full of 2000 Order of Tales and 1200 Rice Boy books now:

Putting books together

Continuing my trend of wordless front covers for big Overside books. Will probably do that with the Vattu books too!
